“Clipped” is the latest series from David Kohan and Max Mutchnick, the Emmy-winning creators of Will & Grace. Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical), Lauren Lapkus (Orange is the New Black), Mike Castle (Family Trap), Ryan Pinkston (Tower Prep), Matt Cook (True Blood) and six-time Emmy nominee George Wendt (Cheers) star in the ensemble comedy about a group of misfits from high school who work together at a Charlestown, Mass. barbershop called Buzzy’s. Their dreams may lie across the Charles River in Boston, but for now, their work, their lives and their loves – not to mention their sense of humor – remain in Charlestown. “Clipped” comes to TBS from Ko Mut Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television.
Nurturing an impressive body of work that encompasses film and television, Ashley Tisdale is one of Hollywood’s most sought after talent and continues to evolve with exciting and challenging projects including her production company Blondie Girl Productions. Audiences will next see Ashley star in the TBS comedy series “Clipped” that is set to premiere in June 2015. “Clipped” is created by Executive Producers David Kohan & Max Mutchnick, the creators of Will & Grace and the show revolves around a group of kids who ran in different circles in high school but now all work together at Buzzy’s Barbershop in Charlestown Massachusetts. She will also be seen on the big screen alongside Jason Biggs in the independent comedy “Drive She Said” which will be released later this year. Ashley and Blondie Girl Productions produce the ABC Family show “Young and Hungry,” which recently premiered for Season 2. In January 2014 the company produced telefilm“Cloud 9” about the competitive world of snowboarding debuted on the Disney Channel The company also produced the BRAVO reality show MISS ADVISED, about a group of relationship experts who don’t practice what they preach and “Inner Circle” for E! Blondie Girl Productions has many scripted and unscripted television shows in development with various networks including Bravo, ABC Family and Disney Channel.
Ashley quickly garnered attention and became one of the breakout stars of the Emmy Award-winning Disney Channel worldwide phenomenon “High School Musical.” Ashley reprised her role as Sharpay Evans, the high school drama queen, in “High School Musical 2,” which broke cable TV records as it garnered 17.5 million viewers. With the success of HSM, Disney decided to release the third installment of the extremely successful “High School Musical” franchise as a feature film. “High School Musical 3: Senior Year,” set a box office record as the highest grossing opening weekend total for a musical. Ashley reprised her role in the Disney Channel original film “Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure, in which her extremely popular character, Sharpay Evans, travels to New York to pursue a Broadway career but it’s her dog who lands an acting gig first. Ashley starred in the Weinstein Company “Scream” parody film “Scary Movie 5″ and her other credits included the feature film “Alien’s in the Attic,” voicing the character of Candane Flynn in the Emmy Award-winning and BAFTA-nominated animated series,“Phineas and Ferb” on Disney XD and Disney Channel. The animated series received a 2014 Critics Choice Television nomination for Best Animated Series and received a 2014 Prime time Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Short-Format Animated Program. Ashley is alsothe voice of Sabrina Spellman in the Hub Network series “Sabrina: Secrets of a TeenageWitch.” She was nominated for a 2014 Emmy Award Emmy for the show in the category of Outstanding Performance in an Animated Program.
She also captured the attention of Disney Channel fans for her role as Maddie in Disney Channel’s hit series, “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.” She had recurring roles on many prime time comedies including “George Lopez,” “Still Standing” and “The Hughleys,” as well as guest starring roles on “Grounded for Life,” “Strong Medicine,” “Boston Public” and “7th Heaven.”A Warner Bros. Records recording artist, her solo album, “Headstrong,” debuted in February 2007 and entered the Billboard Top 200 Chart at #5. Ashley released her secondsolo album entitled “Guilty Pleasure” in June 2009.
Born July 2 in Monmouth County, New Jersey, Ashley was discovered at the age of three in her hometown mall by a talent manager who continues to represent her today. After landing a job from her very first audition, she went on to star in more than 100 national network commercials. At age eight she booked the leading role in the international tour of the musical “Les Misérables,” and toured internationally with the production of “Annie.” She also had the privilege of singing at the White House at the age of 12.
