Oakland Raiders Derek Carr Preaches in Bakersfield Jesus Sermon 2017 Interview

Derek Carr spoke at length to a large crowd of over 1,000 Oakland Raiders fans, who lined up and came in droves in 100 degree weather to  see the NFL’s highest paid QB speak about his life and his love for Jesus. Though Derek Carr declined to sign autographs or pose for photos, eventgoers looked engaged and inspired while Derek Carr spoke.  Watch the video above to see Derek Carr say “I used to smoke weed, party, and have sex with whoever I wanted,” as he spoke of the spiritual changes he underwent, and how everyone could have the same opportunity with Jesus. Before the event, Derek Carr said “I have a very strong faith in God. He is the reason I play football. He has given me this special talent and I want to use it to glorify Him. I am grateful for the opportunity to further His kingdom by sharing my faith on and off the football field. At any moment, any second, my football career could be taken away, but my faith and relationship with God will never be taken from me.”

In the video, you’ll see a drone capturing the event, and you’ll see a brief medical emergency arise and how Oakland Raiders QB Derek Carr responds.

The event was a celebration of Upper Room in Bakersfield. Here is their mission statement:
