Brandon Kyle Belt is an American professional baseball first baseman for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball. He made his MLB debut during the 2011 season. Belt has also filled in at left field for the Giants. Duane Kuiper, an ex-player and current TV broadcaster for the Giants, gave Belt the nickname “Baby Giraffe” because of the way Belt runs. A male reticulated giraffe born at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in San Francisco was named “Brandon” in Belt’s honor . Belt was also on the Giants’ 2012 & 2014 World Series team.
